Switzerland is without a doubt one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It’s also a the one of the most romantic places to have a wedding celebration. Things To Consider Before Choosing A Venue For Your Switzerland Wedding

It can be tough to choose a venue for your Switzerland wedding. Especially when there are so many great options out there. How can you be sure you’re picking the right one?

Before you make any decisions, let’s go over some criteria that will help you find a venue that meets your needs and wishes. Be sure to keep these in mind when planning your Swiss wedding.

Interior & Rooms

First off, ask yourself if the venue fits in with the overall theme of your wedding. Are you having a classic wedding or a rustic one? Whatever you decide, the design and decor of your chosen venue shouldn’t clash with your carefully planned style.

Services

Next, check to see what services the venue offers. Do they have an in-house wedding planner that will help you organize the details of your big day? Will they provide catering or can you book an external one? Be sure to investigate all of these details before signing a contract. You want to be sure that you know exactly what you can expect and what to plan for.

Location and surroundings

There are many beautiful locations in Switzerland to choose from. Take into account the location and surroundings of the venue. Decide if you want to have an indoor or an outdoor wedding. Then check if there are any pretty historical sites, botanical gardens, or epic alps scenery nearby. You might end up finding a castle that you want to rent for your wedding celebration!

Food & Drinks

Food and drinks are an important part of your day. Check to see if your venue offers catering. If they do, make sure that they offer meals you enjoy and are up to your standards. The last thing you want is to eat something you don’t enjoy.

Venue capacity

Consider the number of guests you plan on having. Your guest count will ultimately determine which type of venue will be appropriate for your special day.

Restaurants, AirBnB’s, and boats are a few examples of venues that would be appropriate for a smaller guest list. Hotel venues, and even castles, would suit a larger guest count instead. You want to be sure that your guests have plenty of room to move around. The capacity and size of your venue are going to determine whether everyone will feel comfortable while celebrating your special day.

Premises

Make sure that the premises makes sense for the flow of your day. Is there a garden where you can have the wedding ceremony? Do they have a hall where you are able to host the reception? Is there a space that can be used specifically for dancing?

Or are you planning to have the ceremony and reception in the same spaces? These are important details to keep in mind when choosing a venue that is right for you.

Parking & Transportation

Parking and transportation are two things you can’t forget about! When scouting for a venue, be sure to check out what the parking situation looks like or if transportation is provided. Your guests can’t celebrate your wedding with you if they can’t even get to you.

Availability

What season or date are you planning to have your wedding in? If the venue you have your eye on happens to be a popular location, you’ll want to make sure that you book it in advance. Don’t wait until the last minute to book your dream venue. You might run the risk of having it be booked during your ideal date or season. Secure your venue as early as possible (12-16 months before is recommended here).

Other Services

Check to see if the venue offers additional services! You might as well enjoy a nice spa day or a delicious brunch after the festivities are over. Some venues will include something like this in their packages for little to no additional cost. Take advantage of all the amenities that they have to offer.

Reviews on the Internet

Lastly, what do people have to say about the venue? Reading some reviews about the space will help you identify any potential red flags. This is going to help you avoid any trouble down the road. Otherwise, if only good things are being said, then you can move forward confidently with your decision!

Now that we have the criteria out of the way, let’s take a look at some of the best all-inclusive wedding venues that Switzerland has to offer! I’m ecstatic to share some of my top picks with you.

The Top 10 All-Inclusive Wedding Venues In Switzerland List

With so many unique venues in Switzerland, there are endless options to choose from. Each one has something that sets it apart from the others.

These differences range from the venue’s individual style and decor, to the unique services that they offer. Even the way they approach holding celebrations can make them stand out.

The 10 on this list happen to be some of my all time favorites. Keep reading to learn more about why. I should also preface this by saying that the order of the venues in this list has nothing to do with their “rating”. All of these venues are incredible on their own and cater to so many different needs and wishes. Rating them would be impossible and unnecessary – and we don’t like impossible and unnecessary tasks. 😁

That being said, let’s dive in!

Hotel Villa Honegg

Kicking off our top 10 all-inclusive Swiss wedding venues list, is Hotel Villa Honegg, found in the heart of Switzerland. If you’re looking for a venue with a luxury setting that overlooks the most incredible views of the Swiss countryside, this might be the place for you!

This magnificent mansion feels a lot more like a picturesque private home that’s perched atop a hillside, than it does a hotel. Honegg also hosts a restaurant that offers a first-class culinary experience. The restaurant can seat up to 60 people, and has a private terrace, making it the perfect space for small or intimate weddings.

Just imagine having your ceremony on the terrace with your closest friends and family. Then picture yourself using the snow-capped mountain peaks as the backdrop to your wedding portraits. And don’t even get me started on the beautiful views of Lake Lucerne! You will fall in love at first sight.

Have I mentioned that the areas around the hotel also offer a lot of opportunities to experience the natural beauty that Switzerland offers? Hotel Villa Honegg is a nature lover’s dream! You can find a variety of outdoor activities to keep you entertained and an expanse of verdant hills and valleys are waiting to be explored.

Next on the list we have The Grand Hotel Kronenhof Pontresina. Considered one of the most coveted wedding locations in the Alps because of its historic architecture, you’ll find this venue in the heart of Pontresina village, just six kilometers from St. Moritz.

With its history dating back to 1848, The Grand Hotel is among the world’s most well preserved 19th century hotels. Having undergone extensive renovations in 2007, the hotel is now one of Switzerland’s top luxury and wellness hotels. It’s also now a place where romantic fairy-tale weddings come true.

The wide valley’s of Swiss stone pine and larch forests, and a breath-taking view of the Roseg glacier will captivate you, but what truly makes this venue so great, is that they offer to organize everything for you!

Everything from your room reservations, to the decor, and even dinner are handled for you by the incredible staff. This ends up making the wedding planning process a lot less stressful for you. You can sit back and relax, all the while knowing that every detail is being taken care of by professionals.

The Alpina is an exclusive hillside resort located in a unique area of the Oberbort neighborhood. It’s also surrounded by an immaculate valley, and striking views of the Bernese Alps and the Saanenland.

This venue is known for its authentic architecture, local crafts, beautiful gardens, and their exquisite art collection. They even offer on-site Michelin-starred restaurants and over 1,700 wine selections to pair with any meal or occasion.

Pop open a bottle of your preferred wine and celebrate with your wedding party by having a pre-wedding celebration in the hotel’s exclusive Panorama Suite or the Havana-inspired cigar lounge! And whether you’re having an intimate wedding, or going all out with a large party, there are plenty of spaces available to party. All of them with breathtaking views of the Saanenland!

What really sets this venue apart from all of the others though, are their spectacular wedding exit options. Imagine soaring over the Bernese Alps in a hot air balloon with your partner! Or if heights aren’t your thing, you can be whisked away in a husky sled ride or horse-drawn carriage while enjoying the phenomenal views of snow-covered chalets and mountain peaks.

Found in the heart of Switzerland at the foot of Mount Rigi is Hotel Vitznauerhof. This gorgeous 4-star hotel is located directly on Lake Lucerne. It is also known for providing a luxury experience that you will remember for years to come!

Picture this; your wedding ceremony in the hotel’s garden, directly on a sparkling lake, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. An idyllic backdrop for wedding portraits! And wait until you experience the sunset! It is arguably the most beautiful sunset on all of Lake Lucerne.

Then, you can finish the night by enjoying a spectacular fireworks show with all of your guests! The unique atmosphere that can only be found at the Hotel Vitznauerhof, truly makes it one the most picture-perfect places to get married in Switzerland.

But if that’s not enough to convince you, as a wedding gift from the hotel, they will gift you with an overnight stay in their “one of a kind” suite with a stunning view of the lake! You can’t tell me that doesn’t sound enticing!

The Dolder Grand, Zurich

The Dolder Grand is probably one of the most beautiful Switzerland wedding venues in the very international city of Zurich. You can find it perched high above the city, and like many of the other venues on this list, it offers views of both lakes and mountains that will leave you speechless.

Whether you are planning on having an intimate wedding, or a large and lavish celebration, the Dolder offers plenty of spaces that are suitable for your occasion. In house wedding vendors are also waiting to work with you. You’ll find wedding planners, florists, and bakers ready to help make your vision a reality.

The Dolder is also an official partner of The Swiss Queer Wedding Association. Inclusivity and diversity are incredibly important values to the hotel. They have made it their mission to make sure that every LGBTQ+ couple not only feels welcome, but that they also feel supported while planning their wedding.

This is a gem worth looking into, and one that I recommend as a Swiss wedding photographer.

Tenuta Castello di Morcote, Morcote

If you enjoy wine and history as much as I do, then you are going to love Tenuta Castello di Morcote. This exquisite castle venue can be found nestled between the Pre-Alps and the Po-Valley.

The 150-hectare farm/wine estate and castle were built in the 15th century. They’re also located on a promontory entirely surrounded by Lugano Lake. The property includes seven hectares of terraced vineyards, olive groves, broad pastures, and woodlands.

This is another great option if you want to enjoy some of the best wine produced in Switzerland at your wedding. Tenuta Castello’s main varieties consist of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, and they make it a priority to make sure that their wine is produced organically while respecting the lands around them.

If getting married in a medieval castle with remarkable ruins as the backdrop to your special day, while being surrounded by a magical lake view, and drinking the best wines sounds like your type of party, Tenuta Castello di Morcote is just what you’re looking for.

This is truly a special location! (And I’m not just saying that because there are plenty of areas with stunning scenery to take photos at.)

St. Charles Hall, Meggen

The Villa St. Charles Hall in Meggen impresses with its prestigious rooms and provides an exceptional atmosphere for special occasions. A large south-facing terrace with a unique view of Lake Lucerne, the mountains of Central Switzerland, and the extensive park of the villa are waiting for you to celebrate your love story in this exceptional setting.

With plenty of spaces available for your union, like the Viennese Hall or the beautiful house chapel – each room offers impressive panoramic views that overlook the gorgeous Lake Lucerne.

Have I mentioned that all of the rooms are equipped with antique artifacts that provide a perfect ambiance for events, including weddings? Additionally, many locations on the property are available for photoshoots and video production.

Perfect for creating magnificent memories that you and all of your guests will remember for years to come.
