When you think of Elopements, the image that often comes to mind is one of windswept hikers with messy buns, muddy boots, and a mountaintop "I do." And while that aesthetic has its charm — especially with our iconic Swiss Alps and crystal-clear lakes as a backdrop — I started to wonder: is that really all there is to eloping?
This Luxury Elopement Project in Engelberg was born out of that very question. I wanted to explore a different side of elopements—one that still embraces the raw beauty of nature but doesn't compromise on elegance, comfort, intimacy, or authenticity. A celebration that feels high-end without feeling staged, and personal without feeling performative.
So, I gathered a handpicked team of incredibly talented wedding professionals—people who share my love for quality, attention to detail, and creating experiences that feel real. A few months (and many voice notes) later, we made it happen. With a real married couple (because yes, I will always insist on real chemistry—even in styled shoots), we headed to Engelberg for what turned out to be a deeply moving and beautifully designed day.
Here’s a glimpse into how it all unfolded:
the Getting Ready
Our day began in the stunning rooms of the Kempinski Palace Engelberg. The bridal suite was the perfect place to start: spacious, elegant, and filled with soft morning light that made every moment feel cinematic. We had time to breathe, enjoy, and capture the beautiful anticipation before the adventure began.

the First Look
Before heading into the mountains, we gave our groom a moment he’ll never forget. He hadn’t seen his bride in her elopement dress yet, and their First Look was full of genuine emotion.
As photographers, it's easy to chase aesthetics — but this moment reminded us that real feelings are always the most powerful thing you can capture.

the Ceremony
Once the couple was ready, we all hopped into the cable car and made our way up to Trübsee. The excitement was building. The higher we got, the more it felt like entering a different world — a peaceful, pristine place, far from the buzz of everyday life.
We found a quiet spot near the lake — something private, something grounded.
Simone, our wonderful officiant, guided the couple through a deeply moving vow exchange using real vows from another couple. The idea was to keep things genuine without pressure, and it worked. The tears, the laughs, the way they held each other — it was all real, all heartfelt.
Even though this was a styled shoot, it felt anything but staged.
After the exchange, they slipped their wedding rings on again and sealed it all with a kiss — just like the first time, but maybe even more powerful.
After the ceremony, we took some time to wander around the lake, soaking in the views and letting the emotions settle. Meltem captured breathtaking drone footage, and we had space to slow down, connect, and photograph the couple in a way that felt natural and effortless.

the Dinner
Back at the hotel, our bride changed into a second look — a softer, romantic dress for the evening. And while the rain made its grand appearance, it didn’t dampen the mood. Quite the opposite.
Under a canopy, with the mountains surrounding them, they enjoyed a classic Swiss fondue — cozy, delicious, and full of charm. It was the perfect end to a very special day.
