The One where the drive into their forever

Some ideas come to you like a spark—and this one was exactly that.

I had this vision of an old-school car weaving its way through the breathtaking mountains of Franschhoek, with golden light kissing the road, elegance wrapped in love, and nature being the ultimate backdrop. I could almost hear the hum of the engine, the wind catching a silk dress, and laughter echoing through the vineyards.

To bring it to life, I created a vision board that captured this romantic escape—think timeless style, vintage charm, and that raw Cape Town beauty that never gets old. Then I started reaching out to fellow creatives who could help make it real.

And of course, I needed a couple. Not just models—an actual engaged couple. Because even though this would be a styled shoot, I wanted the connection to be real. The love to be genuine.

Enter Mieke and her fiancé Matt.

When I sent her the vision board, her reply gave me goosebumps. She told me I had basically sent her the shoot she had always dreamed of for her engagement. Talk about stars aligning!

So we made it happen. We packed up, drove out to Franschhoek, and magic unfolded. The photos speak for themselves — and if you ask me, this shoot was everything I hoped for and more.
